Robert M. Santos, 57, a lifelong resident of Scranton, died Friday afternoon at home after a long illness.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of Joseph J. Santos, Scranton, and the late Helene M. Brewster Santos. He was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School and served four years with the Army during the Vietnam War. Before his illness, he was employed by Engineered Demolition as a technician.
He was a friend to all and to all a friend, a nice and kind person. He was a jack of all trades who enjoyed music and fishing.
The family sincerely would like to thank the nurses from Sacred Heart Hospice and Allied Services for their care and support.
Also surviving are a daughter, Pamela Santos; two sons, Edward and Christopher Santos; two brothers, John "Jack" Santos and wife, Lisa, Scranton; and Joseph "Joe" Santos and a friend, Nora Culp, Inkerman; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He also was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret "Maggie" Miller Youngblood.
A blessing service will be Tuesday at noon in the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Ave. Interment will follow in Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst. Friends may call Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
