Clara E. Simpson, 67, of Greenfield Twp., died Tuesday evening at Mercy Hospice.

Born Dec. 1, 1942, in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Corrine Parry Simpson. She was a graduate of Mayfield schools and the Pittston Hospital School of Nursing. She was the director of the Intensive Care Unit at Methodist Hospital in Philadelphia for 30 years. She was a member of the Tompkinsville United Methodist Church.
She loved going to the casinos and enjoyed needle point and crocheting.
She is survived by two nephews, Larry and Lonnie Blank; a niece, Diana Blank; a great-nephew, Lonnie Tyler Blank; and a great-niece, Kiralynn Evelene Blank.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Blank; and a brother, Edward Simpson.
A memorial service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Tompkinsville United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Lori Horlacher, Ph.D., pastor, officiating. Inurnment will follow the service at the Clifford Valley Cemetery, Clifford. Friends may call Monday from 1 to 2 at the church.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Shifler-Parise Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Clifford.
