George M. Troutman, 45, of Throop, died Friday following a lengthy illness. He is survived by his wife, Adrienne Westover Troutman. Wed on Oct. 10, 1997, the couple were married for 13 years.

Born in New Bedford, Mass., on Jan. 23, 1965, son of the late Harry Troutman and Katherine Johnson Troutman of Jermyn, George was a graduate of Lakeland High School and an Army veteran. Both a certified nurse's and medical assistant, he last worked for St. Joseph's Center in Scranton. He enjoyed reading, fishing and painting models. A loving son, husband, brother, stepfather, stepgrandfather and uncle, George will be dearly missed.

Also surviving are his stepchildren, Denise Silfee, Esther Bogaski and Joshua Silfee, all of Scranton; Kenneth Silfee, at home; and Edward Silfee, Union Dale; nine siblings; nine stepgrandchildren; many nieces and nephew.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, John Troutman.

Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home Inc., 517 N. Main St., Old Forge, by the Rev. Arthur Davis, pastor, Asbury United Methodist Church. Interment with military rites by the AMVETS Honor Guard will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Jermyn.
