Marvin Kenneth Brown of Maryville, Tenn., died Thursday. His wife is Joyce Brown.

Son of the late T. Kenneth and Lucile M. Brown, he was a graduate of Tunkhannock High School, Philadelphia Biblical University, Purdue University, where he received a degree in electrical engineering, and Florida Atlantic University, where he received an MBA. He retired from IBM in Florida, and moved to Maryville. Shortly after moving, he gained employment at the University of Tennessee Engineering Department. He was always involved in ministry work, serving as a missionary abroad and establishing a radio station at East Maryville Baptist Church and was instrumental in the production and operation of the TV ministry at Broadway Baptist Church.

Also surviving are a daughter, Annette Brown Traore and husband, Malick; a son, Jeffrey Brown; a granddaughter, Nia Traore; and two sisters, Harriett Perkins and Eileen Churchill.

The funeral will be today at 8 p.m. at Broadway Baptist Church, with the Rev. Tony Collins officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 at the church. Family and friends will assemble at 2 on Wednesday at Grandview Cemetery for the interment.
