Richard D. Burns, 44, of the Hideout, Lake Ariel, and formerly of Taylor, died Monday at home. He is survived by his wife, Michele Kovach Burns. Wed on May 24, 1991, the couple was married for 20 years.

Born in Albany, Ga., on March 30, 1967, he was the son of Richard and stepmother Colleen Burns of Madison Twp., and Annmarie Buchholz Burns of American Fork, Utah. A graduate of Riverside High School, class of 1985, he worked in distribution for Crossmark Co. A veteran, he served as a sergeant for the military police in the Army. An avid reader of science fiction books and a fisherman who enjoyed riding his motorcycle, he will be dearly missed.
He is also survived by his only child, Sarah Burns, Moosic; a brother, Kevin Burns, Madison Twp.; and two sisters, Kelly Burns, Madison Twp.; and Carrie Simpson and husband, Russell, American Fork.
