Rosella A. Gardecki of Conyngham died Thursday at the Hazleton General Hospital. Surviving is her beloved husband of 47 years, Joseph Gardecki.

Born in Mayfield, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Kantor) O'Buck and was an active member of Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church, McAdoo, where she enjoyed being a member of the choir. Her infectious laugh and sparkling blue eyes were matched only by her beautiful voice. She worked at PPL for more than 20 years before retiring in 2004 to spend more time with her family.
Also surviving are three children, Joseph Gardecki, his wife, Ramona and their daughter, Emma, Acton, Mass.; Rosella Gardecki, Columbus, Ohio; and John Gardecki, Arlington, Mass.; and her brother, John O'Buck and his wife, Pat, Plains, Mont. She was also preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Thomas Middlesworth, Harrisburg.
A Panikhida will be celebrated on Sunday at 7 p.m. in the Joseph A. Moran Funeral Home, 229 W. 12th St., Hazleton. The family will receive friends on Monday from 9 to 11 a.m. in Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church, 223 S. Kennedy Drive, McAdoo, followed by a Requiem service at 11.
