Ronald Corona Obituary

Ronald Joseph Corona Jr., 39, of Berwick, passed away on Monday, August 13, 2012. Born in Berwick on November 19, 1972, he was the son of Joanna Ursi and the late Ronald Joseph Corona Sr., who passed away on January 18, 2011.

Ronnie graduated from Berwick High School in 1991. He was the President of his Senior Class and was voted Homecoming King and most likeable in his senior class by his classmates at Berwick High School. Ronnie continued his education at Bloomsburg University before graduating magna cum laude from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, with a degree in Pharmacology in 1997. Ronnie then moved to Philadelphia, where he worked as a Pharmacist before his most recent employment as a counselor at Narcanon of Georgia.

A friend to everyone fortunate enough to have known him and his warm, welcoming personality, intelligence and sense of humor, Ronnie loved animals, enjoyed working out and was also an accomplished hunter and fisherman. Ronnie was known for his willingness to help anyone, friend or stranger, with anything at any time. He also was a passionate sports fan with the Los Angeles Dodgers and Dallas Cowboys as his favorite sports teams.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his father, the late Ronald Joseph Corona, Sr., and his paternal grandparents, the late Clement and Carmella Corona; all formerly of Berwick.

In addition to his mother, Joanna Ursi, Ronnie is survived by his sister, April C. O'Connor and her husband, Jay, of Archbald, Pa.; his brother, Thomas Corona and his wife, Shannon, of Berwick; his maternal grandparents, Tony and Marie "Mitzi" Ursi, Berwick; and his five nieces and nephews, Kateri, Kaitlyn, Leslie, Leahy and Rockne O'Connor of Archbald, Pa.

We will all miss his infectious smile and bear hugs.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at the Mayo Funeral Home Inc., 110 Chestnut St., Berwick, with the Reverend Dennis G. Dalessandro, of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Berwick, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Beyond Violence, 1612 Walnut Street, Berwick, Pa. 18603; or the Animal Resource center, 301 Boone Road, Bloomsburg, PA 17815. For additional information or to send online condolences, please visit www.mayofh.com.

Dale and I both taught Ron (I called him Rondo) as he was in my Spanish class. He often visited us and we loved him like a son! Can't believe so many years have passed. We'll always remember his smile!

Ronnie you were a kind soul and a heartbreaker. Some day soon I will be taking my boys hunting and will be thinking of you-I will think of you always. You were a great guy and whoever keeps your company now is very fortunate.

I was truly saddened to hear of Ronnies passing. He was a friend, classmate and extraordinarly exceptional person which is how I will always remember him. He had so much to give and touched everyone he came in contact with. His memory will live on and he will be missed by many. RIP.

To his family and loved ones I hope and pray that they endure with faith, love, strength and many wonderful memories.
