Marjorie T. Tierney of Elizabethtown, formerly of Rochester, N.Y., and Tobyhanna, died Sunday evening at Masonic Village Health Care Center, Elizabethtown, after an illness. Her husband of 55 years, until his death in 2009, was Eugene A. Tierney.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Rose Danner O'Hora. A graduate of Scranton Central High School and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, she received a B.S. degree in nursing education at College Misericordia, and an M.S. degree in counseling from Marywood College. She was a school nurse at Pocono Mountain School District before retirement. Marge was also a World War II veteran of the Army Nurse Corps.

Surviving are a daughter, Rosanne Tierney, Columbia, S.C.; two sons, Thomas Tierney and wife, Anne, Wooster, Ohio; and Raymond Tierney and wife, Annette, Elizabethtown; six grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Anthony, Joseph, Dr. William and Cyril O'Hora; and three sisters, Sister Marion O'Hora, R.S.M.; Helen and Anna Rose O'Hora.

The funeral will be Saturday with Mass at 9:30 a.m. at St. John Newman Parish in Nativity of Our Lord Church, 633 Orchard St., Scranton, to be celebrated by the Rev. Michael Bryant, pastor. Interment, St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow.

Friends may call Saturday from 8:30 to 9:30, at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Masonic Village Hospice, Office of Gift Planning, 1 Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022.
