Leah N. Hershfield, 100, of Columbus, Ohio, died Wednesday evening in Wexner Heritage House, Columbus. She was the widow of the late Dr. David Hershfield.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late attorney Harry and Ida Spitz Needle. She attended Syracuse University and received a bachelor's degree in library science from Marywood College.
Surviving are sons, Dr. Robert Hershfield and wife, Marcia; and Dr. Michael S. Hershfield and wife, Susan; grandchildren, Jeremy Hershfield and wife, Rachel Kurlantzick; Jessica Hershfield Malamuth and husband, Eldad; and Jon Rosenthal and wife, Marla; great-grandchildren, Ezra Max Malamuth, Amitai David Malamuth and Mavis Rae Rosenthal; several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by brothers, Joe, Ralph and Matthew Needle; and sisters, Minnie Nogi and Hilda Goldenziel.
A graveside service will be held today at 1 p.m. in Dickson City Jewish Cemetery by Rabbi Joseph Mendelsohn. There will be no local shiva.
