Katherine Van Fleet, 91, of Clarks Summit, died Wednesday morning at Abington Manor. She was the widow of Lloyd Van Fleet, who died in 2004.

Born in Glenburn Twp., daughter of the late Maurice H. and Helena Fritz Hall, she was a self-employed housekeeper before retirement. For many years, she and her husband operated a farm in Newton Twp. She was a member of Country Alliance Church.
Katherine was a woman of faith who enjoyed hosting her women's Bible study and the monthly birthday group as well as family birthdays and picnics.
Surviving are a daughter, Donna and husband, Patrick Moffit, Scranton; four sisters, Evelyn Hall, Glenburn; Wilma E. Jones, Bethlehem; Janet R. Kloda, Binghamton, N.Y.; and Esther M. Rowlands, East Stroudsburg; a niece, Lynn and husband, Bill Griffin; and a nephew, Gary and wife, Karen Van Fleet.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Maurice Jr.; and two sisters, Lois Hall and Bernice Dedaio.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Abington Manor and Dr. Stephen Jaditz for the love and compassionate care given to Katherine.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, with services by Brian Nichols. Interment will follow in Newton Cemetery.
