Stanley P. Prisco, a resident at the Gino J. Merli Veterans Center, died Thursday at the center. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Tierney Prisco, with whom he had four children; and his second wife, Ruth Flanagan Prisco.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Saverio and Constance Furiosi Prisco. A graduate of Scranton Technical High School, he received an associate degree in accounting from Penn State University. Stanley was a veteran and proudly served in the Army during World War II. He worked at the former Murray plant for 26 years before it closed, and served as the plant's UAW Local 18 president for 12 years. He later retired from the Marion Convent, Scranton, after eight years of service.
Stanley's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of 2nd South at the Gino J. Merli Veterans Center for their outstanding care and compassion.
Surviving are daughters, Patricia Marek and husband, Walter, Peckville; and Constance Reese and husband, Harold James, Breckenridge, Colo.; sons, Stanley and Madeline Guest, Bowie, Md.; and Thomas and wife, Mary, Woodbridge, Va.; stepson, Thomas Flanagan; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by brothers, Alfonso, Anthony, Nicholas and James; sisters, Margaret Gallucci, Mary Kapusa, Rita Cutro and Jesse Vennero; grandson, Kevin Reese; and stepdaughter, Joyce Boyland.
The funeral will be conducted on Tuesday from the Patrick F. Guido Funeral Home, 120 S. Main Ave., Scranton, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Lucy's Church, 949 Scranton St., Scranton. Interment with military honors will follow at Cathedral Cemetery Mausoleum, Scranton.
Friends may call Tuesday from 8 to 9.
