Rosalie M. Strugala, 89, of Scott Twp., died Sunday upon arrival at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton, after being stricken ill at home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Strugala, on Feb. 19, 1976.

Born in Poland, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ann Pasz. She was a member of St. Mary's Visitation Church, Dickson City. As a young child in Poland, she was placed in a work camp by the German army and later sent to a concentration camp until the end of World War II. After the war, at the age of 15, she immigrated to the United States. Before retirement, she was employed in the local garment industry as a seamstress.
She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved her dog "Lucy," going to Mohegan Sun and eating at her favorite restaurant, Six East. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Surviving are a daughter, Genny Budzinski, Scott Twp., with whom she resided; a son, Theodore Strugala Sr. and wife, Patricia, Scott Twp.; grandchildren, Theodore Strugala Jr., Jessup, Tricia Strugala, Scott Twp., and Michael Budzinski Sr. and wife, Kim, Scott Twp.; granddaughter-in-law, Lisa Budzinski, Nicholson; great-grandchildren, Erica, Samuel, Aubree and Rosalie Budzinski; nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Richard Budzinski; great-grandson, Michael Budzinski Jr.; and a sister, Stefanie Filak.
The funeral will be Friday at 9 a.m. from the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City, with Mass at 9:30 in St. Mary's Visitation Church, Dickson City. Interment, St. Mary's Cemetery, Dickson City.
