Bernetta Breig, 81, of Moosic, died Monday in Hospice Community Care, Dunmore. She was the widow of Charles Breig Sr., who died Nov. 20, 1983.

Born in Dunmore, daughter of the late Lorenzo and Maria Lucia Panaro, she was a member of Queen of the Apostles Church, Avoca. She was educated in Dunmore public schools and a graduate of Dunmore High School. She was employed in the garment industry, and after retirement, she was employed at local daycare centers. She was a member of the ILGWU.

Bernetta enjoyed sewing and yard work. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. Her family meant everything to her.

Surviving, three daughters, Charlotte Baron and husband, William, of Taylor, Judy McHugh and husband, Timothy, of Moosic, and Sue Mielo and husband, Michael Jr., of Scranton; one son, Charles Breig Jr. and wife, Jennifer, of Jessup; two brothers, Gerard Panaro of Throop, and Joseph Panaro of Dunmore; one sister, Carmella Panaro of Dunmore; 10 grandchildren John, Joey, Melissa, Amy, Timothy, Lindsey, Michael, Stephanie, Caroline and Charles III; six great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Ruland; one sister, Bertha Panaro; and three brothers, Donato, Gaetano and Vito Panaro.

The funeral will be Friday with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Queen of the Apostles Church, Hawthorne Street, Avoca, to be celebrated by the Rev. Phillip J Sladicka, pastor. Interment, St. Mary's Cemetery, Avoca. Anyone attending the funeral is asked to proceed directly to the church on Friday.

Friends may call Thursday, 4 to 7 p.m., in the Eagen-Hughes Funeral Home, 2908 Birney Ave., Scranton.
