Marie Davitt Rodney, 87, of Scranton, died Friday at Lackawanna Health and Rehab Center. She was the wife of William A. Rodney Jr., who died in 1985.

Marie was born in Scranton, daughter of the late Michael and Kathleen Judge Davitt.

The family wishes to thank everyone that provided support and care during her extended convalesence, and specifically Dr. Collier, Dr. Eisner, the team at Life Geisinger and the staff on the D- wing, also more recently, the staff on C1.

She is survived by a daughter, Kathy Saita and husband, Ben, Throop; two sons, Bill Rodney and wife, Teresa, Newport, N.C.; and Jim, Pensacola, Fla.; brother, Joseph Davitt and wife, Joan, Dalton; two sisters, Peggy Tannehill, Lake Winola; and Alice Gunton, Falls; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Bette Davitt; nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Paul and Michael; two sisters, Kathleen Davitt and Ann Leonhart; and daughter-in-law, Katherine Rodney.

Private funeral services will be conducted from the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home Inc., 1030 N. Main Ave., Scranton. Interment will be private in Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 1101 Willow St., Peckville, PA 18452, or the Raina Santora Fund, c/o Fidelity Bank, 247 Wyoming Ave., Kingston, PA 18704.
