Anna Stratford Pieniazek, 93, of Forest City, died Tuesday at Hospice Community Care, Dunmore, shortly after being admitted. She was the widow of Joseph Pieniazek, who died July 9, 2008.

Born in Forest City, daughter of the late William and Mary Ellen Carey Stratford, she was a member of St. Agnes Church, Forest City, and its Altar and Rosary Society. She was a graduate of Forest City High School. Before retirement, Anna worked with her husband in their plumbing and heating business. She was always a lady and hosted numerous parties and dinners for her family and friends. Everyone was always welcome. She maintained the family homestead for more than 60 years.
Surviving are a brother, Russell Paul Stratford and wife, Aileen, Vestal, N.Y.; two sisters, Maryclaire Bonds, Forest City; and Carole Subramanian and husband, Ron, Palmdale, Calif.; two sisters-in-law, Kathryn Stratford and Marianne Stratford, both of Forest City; several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, cousins and many dear friends.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, William and Edward J. Stratford; and a sister, Rita Stratford Pinadella.
The funeral will be Saturday from the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main St., Forest City, with Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, Delaware Street, Forest City. Interment, St. Agnes Cemetery, Forest City.
