Edward Ruben Kimble, 89, of Tunkhannock, died Jan. 27 at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton. He was the husband of the late Helen Cimoch Kimble.

He was born in Clarks Summit on Feb. 6, 1923, the son of the late Lee B. and Myrtle Kettle Kimble.
Edward served as a lieutenant in the Navy in World War II, and, prior to his retirement, he was executive vice president of Tasty Baking Co. (Tastykake).
He was a loving husband and "the greatest grandpa." He will be missed dearly by family and friends. He was read his last rights and anointed by a Catholic priest as he was led to heaven by angels.
Surviving are sons, Edward R. Kimble, Tunkhannock; James L. Kimble, Glenolden; and Thomas Fromanger, Mississauga, Canada; grandchildren, Ryan and Kimberly Kimble, Hampton, Va.; Nicole Cassidy and Mark Kilroy, Prospect Park; and Louis Fromanger, Mississauga; and three great-grandchildren, Aiden Michael Kimble, 7; Mikaela Aileen Kilroy, 3; and Andrea Claire Kilroy, 9 months. Also loved in his heart were Billy Kapinski and Kimberly Fiscus. Special thanks also go to longtime family friend, Lee Morrison, Havertown.
Also preceding him in death was a daughter, Martha Sears.
No services will be held, per Edward's request.
