Lydia Gellett, 99, died Monday afternoon in St. Mary's Villa Nursing Home, Elmhurst Twp., where she was a resident. She was the widow of Frank Gellett, who died in 1983.

Born and raised in Scranton, daughter of the late Guiseppe and Felicella Muchello Macchia, she attended Scranton public schools and was a member of St. Eulalia's Parish in Roaring Brook Twp.
She was an excellent homemaker, baker and pianist.
The family extends its gratitude to the staff of St. Mary's Villa for the outstanding care given to Lydia.
Surviving are nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Pauline Macchia and Mayme Nish.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday in St. Eulalia's Church by Monsignor John Jordan with interment in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Dunmore.
