Nicolena Belisario, 78, formerly of Providence Road, Scranton, died Monday at Commonwealth Hospice Inpatient Unit at Regional Hospital of Scranton after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the widow of Florindo Belisario.

Born 1934, in New York City, daughter of the late Stefano and Mary Zucco Mannino, Nicolena was a devoted mother and grandmother, and her family meant everything to her. Her passions in life were cooking and reading.
Surviving are five daughters, Christina Mainland and husband, Douglas, San Diego; Denise Smith and husband, Ron, Gurnee, Ill.; Renee Bordo and husband, Joseph, Jessup; Diana Belisario, Peckville; and Stephanie Natale and husband, Thomas, Scott Twp.; 10 grandchildren, Nicollette and Dominic Bordo, Sydney and Michael Smith, Allison Mainland, Natalie and Nadia Palevac, Antonio, Isabella and Lucianna Natale; two brothers, Stephen Mannino, Colorado; Joseph Mannino, Princeton, N.J.; several nieces and nephews.
Her family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff at Commonwealth Hospice, the Green Ridge Health Care Center and to Dr. Kevin Olsen for their compassionate care and support.
The funeral will be Saturday from the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home Inc., 1030 N. Main Ave., Scranton, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Lucy's Church, 949 Scranton St., Scranton. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
