John F. Bozan, East Norristown, died Sunday at home.

Born in Scranton, son of the late John and the late Florence Butkiewicz Bozan, he was educated in Scranton public schools and graduated in 1964. He served in the Navy and completed 23 years of military service. He was employed at Norristown State Hospital before retirement in 2003. He was a lifelong member of St. Stanislaus Polish National Catholic Cathedral, and a member of Charity Masonic Lodge 190, Norristown, for more than 40 years. John's favorite expression to anyone showing courtesy was "Thank you for your kindness."

Surviving are cousins and two especially close friends, Maxine Yorks and Mary Mitizeia of Norristown.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Cathedral, Scranton. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Stanislaus Polish National Cathedral, 529 E. Locust St., Scranton, PA 18505. Arrangements, Sznyter Funeral Home, Scranton.
