Marion Rescigno, 97, of Dunmore, died Sunday afternoon at Mountain View Care Center. She was the widow of Peter Paul Rescigno, who died in 1990.

Born in Pittston, daughter of the late Salvatore and Vincenza Miraglia Orlandi, she was educated in Dunmore schools and was member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, Dunmore. Before retirement, she was employed as a seamstress for the Scranton Garment Manufacturing Co. She was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union.
She was a loving mother, who was completely devoted to and sacrificed for her family. She always organized the family dinners and was an excellent cook who enjoyed singing and dancing. She will be sincerely missed by everyone with whom she came in contact.

Surviving are two daughters, Millie Cannon and husband, Thomas, Moosic and Naples, Fla.; and Jean Micciche and husband, John, Bonita Springs, Fla.; grandchildren, Stacy Micciche, Jenean Janeski and husband, Steve; grandchildren through marriage, Michael Cannon and wife, Katherine; Molly Haywood and husband, Reed; Julie Murray and husband, Rich; five great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Albert, Salvatore and Philip Messina; and four sisters, Grace Medico, Lucille Lunger, Josephine Lombardo and Suzie Messina.
The funeral will be Thursday with Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, 322 Chestnut St., Dunmore. Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
Friends and family are invited to call on Thursday at the church from 10:30 until time of Mass.
