Ian James Blachek, beloved son of Terri Blachek of Missouri and James and Mary Blachek, Montrose, died suddenly on February 26, 2013. Born on May 8, 1990, Ian was a graduate of Montrose High School and Broome Community College. He was employed by Blachek Landscaping. He enjoyed playing video games and cards, reading, and spending time with his family each June at the beach.

In addition to his parents, Ian is survived by his paternal grandparents, John and Rose Blachek, Montrose, with whom he resided; his maternal grandparents, Richard and Susan Lyman of Springville; and maternal great-grandmothers, Joan Lyman, Springville; and Laura Geertgens, Montrose. He is also survived by his siblings, Thomas (Julie) Blachek of Chambersburg; and Mara Blachek, Michael and Ethan Pettit of Montrose; Eryn and McKenna Mangan of Illinois; uncles, Eric Lyman, Montrose; and John (Janet) Blachek, Lock Haven; aunts, Judith (John Paolillo) Blachek, Nashua, N.H.; Jean (Rod) Robinson, Charlotte, N.C.; Janet (Andrew) Millen, White Hall, Pa.; and Jill (Edward) Stark, Towson, Md.; and many cousins.
The visitation will be held on Friday evening, March 1, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Daniel K. Regan Funeral Home, 232 South Main St., Montrose. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013, at the Daniel K. Regan Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the service.
