Mr. Stanley J. Daniels Jr., beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather of Bear Creek Boulevard, Plains Township, passed into Eternal Life Tuesday evening, March 5, at his residence in the company of his loving family.

Born October 8, 1925, in Edwardsville, he was the son of the late Stanley J. and Susan (Strutko) Daniels Sr. He was educated in the Edwardsville schools.
Following his education, Mr. Daniels proudly served our country with the United States Navy during the Second World War as a Carpenter's Mate, second class, later earning the rank of Captain upon his Honorable Discharge from military service on March 22, 1946.
Until his retirement, he was employed as a building inspector for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of General Services. Previously, he was employed as a general contractor, serving many areas of northeastern Pennsylvania.
Mr. Daniels was a member of Saint Andre Bessette Parish in northeast Wilkes-Barre. He was also a founding member and Past Commander of the Catholic War Vets, Post 752; Captain of the Edwardsville Auxiliary Police; Captain of the Civil Defense on the West Side of the Wyoming Valley, assisting during the devastation of the Agnes Flood of 1972; and is remembered by family and friends for his gardening skills and his civic-mindedness to his hometown of Edwardsville.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, the former Alice M. Sulzinski, on April 28, 2009,
Surviving are his children, Stanley J. Daniels III, at home, his fiancée, Karen Fetterolf, Wilkes-Barre; daughters, Alice Stofko and her husband, Albert, of Clarks Summit; and Mary Jean Mentyka and her husband, Robert, of State College; eleven grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Mickey and Eleanor Baron of New Cumberland; Dorothy Kusminski of Maryland; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Daniels will be conducted on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. from the North Wilkes-Barre location of the John V. Morris Family Funeral Homes Inc., 625 North Main Street, followed by a funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. in the Saint Stanislaus Kostka worship site of Saint Andre Bessette Parish, 663 North Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, with the Reverend Father Kenneth M. Seegar, Pastor, officiating.
Interment with full military honors will follow in Saint Mary's Roman Catholic Cemetery, 1594 South Main Street, Hanover Township.
Relatives and friends may join Mr. Daniels' family for visitation and remembrances Friday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Morris Funeral Home.
