Stephen Warin, 93, of Sparta, N.J., died on Thursday at the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home in Paramus, N.J. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Cobb Warin.

Stephen was born in Old Forge and lived in Haledon and Paterson, N.J., before moving to Sparta, six years ago. He was a proud member of the Army during World War II and was a member of the American Legion in Haledon, N.J. Stephen was employed by DuPont in Newark, for many years in the pigment processing division.
Stephen is survived by his devoted children, James Warin and wife, Mayra, of Saylorsburg; and Stephanie Zonin and husband, William, of Monroe, N.C.; grandchildren, Sherri Trapanese and husband, Craig, of Sparta, N.J.; William Zonin Jr. and his wife, Nicole, of Ranlo, N.C.; and James Warin Jr. and wife, Kristen, of Hopatcong, N.J.; loving great-grandchildren, Jessica, Tyler, Cailee, Shayne and Sierra.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main St., Sparta, N.J. Interment will follow at Fair Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Fair Lawn, N.J.
Friends may call Monday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
