William H. Greggs, 92, of Allied Terrace in Scranton, formerly of Green Ridge, died Friday evening at home. His wife of 66 years is the former Ann Steever.

Bill was born Sept. 27, 1920, in Scranton, and was the son of the late William R. and Lottie Woodvine Greggs. Bill was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran, serving from 1942 until 1946, in the Philippines and the South Pacific theater of war. Before his retirement in 1977, he was the operator of Greggs Motor Lines of Scranton. Bill was a lifelong member of Providence United Methodist Church and served as a church trustee and choir member for many years. He was currently a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Scranton. He was active with Boy Scouts Troop 8 of Scranton and was a longtime board member for the Lake Ariel Landowners.

Also surviving is his son, William J. Greggs and wife, Shelley, of Sanibel, Fla.; daughter, Debbie Loughney of Savannah, Ga.; sister, Marion Roberto of Clarks Summit; grandchildren, Jeffrey Greggs of Brooklyn, N.Y.; Francesca Greggs of San Francisco, Calif.; and Jesse Loughney and wife, Courtney, of Wilmington, Del.; and great-grandchildren, Lennon and Kieran.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Howard J. Snowdon Funeral Home, 1810 Sanderson Ave., Scranton, with the Rev. Arthur W. Davis as officiating clergy. Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst Twp.

Friends may call Tuesday, 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., at the funeral home.
