Madelyn C. Holley, also known as Midge, of Scranton and formally of Taylor, died Wednesday under the care of VNA Hospice at Geisinger Community Medical Center Hospital in Scranton. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Albert H. Holley Sr., on May 7, 1995. They would have been married for 54 years.

Born in the Austin Heights section of Old Forge, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Adeline Neiper Stefanko. Her career was devoted to services that improved others' quality of life. After retirement, she was a loyal volunteer for Telespond Services and also served as a Eucharist minister.
A talented seamstress, she made beautiful baby clothes for her grandchildren and she created wonderful crafts for her family and friends. She will long be remembered for her big heart, charity, generosity and helping to create wonderful family memories, whether at her home, her families' homes or her cottage at the lake. A very loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt, her family was the focal point of her life. She will be dearly missed.
Her family would like to express its gratitude to the staffs of both VNA Hospice and Life Geisinger for the extraordinary care given to Madelyn.
She is survived by her children, William Angerson and wife, Linda, of Florida; Joseph Angerson and wife, Edna, of Carbondale; Mary Tompkins and husband, Robert J., of Scranton; Adeline "Cookie" Smith and husband, Stephen, of Laflin; and Albert Holley Jr. and wife, Lisa, of White Haven; her sister, Jackie Donovan of Moosic; 21 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, with two on the way; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Also preceding her in death was a dear son, Patrick "Pete" Angerson; grandsons Dustin, Sean Patrick and Lance Angerson; a brother, Joseph "Ronnie" Stefanko; and an infant sister.
Funeral services are scheduled to begin on Monday at 9:15 a.m. from the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home Inc., 517 N. Main St., Old Forge, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Ann's Basilica, West Scranton. Interment will follow at Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m.
