Robert L. Calame, 70, of Gouldsboro and Woodhaven, N.Y., died Thursday morning at home in Gouldsboro. He was the husband of Muriel A. Yarnavick Calame.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of the late Louis Frederick and Gladys Peers Calame. Robert graduated from Franklin K. Lane High School in Woodhaven, N.Y., and retired from the New York City Police Department after 30 years of service. He attended St. Rita's Church in Gouldsboro.
Robert is also survived by a daughter, Camille O'Brien and husband, Sean, of Springfield, N.J.; two sons, Robert L. Calame Jr. and wife, Kathy, of Bayport, N.Y.; and Donald Calame and wife, Meg, of Toronto, Canada; three grandchildren, Meaghan, Devin and Brendan O'Brien; and a cousin, Eileen Peers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Rita's Church, 512 Main St., Gouldsboro, to be celebrated by the Rev. Alfred J. Vito. Friends and family are asked to go directly to the church Tuesday morning.
There will be a visitation on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Brian Arthur Strauch Funeral Home, 3 First St., Spring Brook Twp.
