Gloria Farrell, Scranton, died Saturday at the Mountain View Care Center, Scranton. She was the wife of John P. Farrell. They would have celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on June 14.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Anthony and Josephine Guarillia Gabello, she attended Scranton schools. She was a member of the former Holy Name of Jesus Church, now St. John Neumann Parish, all of her life.

Her family was the center of her life, especially her husband, Jack, who was the love of her life, her daughter, Trish, with whom she spent many Saturdays "shopping till they dropped" and her grandchildren, who she adored.

Gloria loved to cook and bake, and being of Italian ancestry, would have made her Italian ancestors proud.

Gloria's family would like to thank the entire staff at Mountain View Care Center B Wing, Bella Bay, especially Betty, May, Rose Ann, Sherry, Mary Kay and Chrissy.

Also surviving are her son, John and wife, Michele; daughter, Patricia Valunas and husband, Anthony; grandchildren, Joseph, Ashton, Caleb and Alexandra Farrell, and Frank Marinucci; nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by eight brothers, Angelo, Joseph, Anthony, George, Phillip, Andrew, Nick and Louis; two sisters, Gemma Signa and Florence Mangieri; in-laws, John and Mary Scavazzo Farrell; and son-in-law, Frank Marinucci.

The funeral will be Wednesday from the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home Inc., 1030 N. Main Ave., Scranton, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Name of Jesus Church, 1414 Elm St., Scranton. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery.
