Linda Biel Krupovich, 64, of Clarks Summit, died Sunday at home, with her daughter, Katie, by her side, after a courageous six year battle with breast cancer.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Robert and Irene McNerney Biel, she was a devoted member of St. Gregory's Church. Educated in St. Ann's Monastery School, she was a graduate of St. Patrick's High School and Bloomsburg University. She received her master's degree in English literature from the University of Scranton. Linda was an active member of the Waverly Women's Club and volunteered at the Community Medical Center Gift Shop and was a member of the Community Medical Center Auxiliary. Before retirement, she taught English at Tunkhannock High School from 1970 until 2004. She also taught at Allied Medical Institute in Forty Fort and served as an editor for Thompson Publishing.
Linda loved life and lived for her daughter, Katie. She greatly appreciated her close circle of friends and had a great love for her cat, "Frankie," who kept her spirits strong. A special thanks to Dr. Salvatore Sciallia and all the staff NROC for the excellent care and compassion bestowed upon Linda throughout her illness.
She is also survived by her aunt, Mary Haggerty, and the love, joy and cornerstone of her life, Kathryn Richard.
The funeral will be Thursday at 10:15 a.m. from the Thomas J. Hughes Funeral Home Inc., 1240 St. Ann's St., Scranton, with Mass of Christian Burial at 11 in St. Gregory's Church, North Abington Road, Clarks Green, to be concelebrated by Monsignor John J. Lewis and the Rev. John J. Lappera, pastor. Interment Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
