Angeline "Gallie" M. Podboy of Browndale died Thursday at the Forest City Nursing Center after an illness. She was the widow of the late Edward Podboy, who died in 1995.

Born in Carbondale, daughter of the late Jacob and Lucy Kepic Shamro, she was a member of Ascension Parish, Forest City. Before retirement, she was employed as a seamstress in several area dress factories. She was a member of the American Slovenian Heritage Club and the International Ladies Garment Workers' Union.
Surviving are a daughter, Barbara Puntar and husband, William, Scott Twp.; a granddaughter, Amy Shingler and husband, Jeremy, Hunlock Creek; two great-grandsons, Troy and Wesley Shingler; a brother, Joseph Shamro and wife, Betty, Carlisle; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by a grandson, William Puntar; several brothers and sisters.
The funeral will be Monday from the Jones & Brennan Funeral Home, 430 Main St., Forest City, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, Delaware Street, Forest City. Interment, St. Joseph's Cemetery, Forest City.
