Harold (Butch) Hedrick, age 73, a lifelong resident of West Scranton, died unexpectedly Friday evening while on a 10-day Caribbean cruise with his beloved wife, Frances (Raymond). The two were married May 5, 1962, and celebrated 50 memorable years last May.

Born September 26, 1939, son of the late Harold G. and Helen L. Loveland Hedrick, Harold was a graduate of West Scranton High School, class of 1957. A U.S. Army veteran, Harold worked 41 years for Harper Collins of Dunmore before retiring in 2002. Harold was a member of the Teamsters Local 229. He was a member of St. Ann's Basilica.
Surviving are his son, Paul Hedrick, with wife, Maria, of Pittsburgh; and his daughter, Debra Hedrick of Scranton. Harold also had two grandchildren, Emma and Todd Hedrick; and numerous cousins and many friends. Harold will be dearly missed by all who loved him, including his daughter's dog, Zoey, who he loved spending time with every day.
Funeral services are scheduled to begin on Thursday at 9:15 a.m. from the Kearney Funeral Home Inc., 125 N. Main Ave., Scranton, with a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ann's Basilica Church, West Scranton, to be celebrated by the Rev. Joseph Jones, C.P. Interment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
