Sharon Sweder Sutcliffe, 37, of Roaring Brook Twp., died Saturday morning at University of Pennsylvania Hospital after a courageous battle with leukemia. Her husband is Roger Sutcliffe, to whom she was married for six years.

Born in Scranton, daughter of John and Sandra Shefchick Sweder, Sharon graduated from North Pocono High School, class of 1994 and was employed as a certified nurse's assistant. She resided the majority of her life in Roaring Brook Twp.
Sharon lost her battle with leukemia but fought bravely right up until the end. The family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Luger and her staff for their excellent care during her illness and all those who helped them through this struggle.
Also surviving are her maternal grandparents, Michael and Madelyn Shefchick; a daughter, Brittney Sweder, at home; a brother, John Sweder and wife, Jennifer, Virginia; a sister, Michelle Sweder, Taylor; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Destiny; and a sister, Cynthia Sweder.
The funeral will be Friday at 9 a.m. from the Louis M. Margotta Funeral Home, 511 Church St., Jessup, with Divine Liturgy at 9:30 from Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church, Jessup. Interment will be private at a later date at Holy Ghost Cemetery, Jessup.
