Born in Peckville on Sept. 24, 1946, he was the son of the late Alfred and Anna Babitz Taramelli. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnamese Campaign Medal, Two Overseas Service Bars and the Marksman Badge M-14 Rifle. Before his retirement, he was employed for 35 years at Lockheed Martin in Archbald as a drill-press operator, where he very much enjoyed working with his co-workers.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brothers and his wife, but above all, he loved spending time with his stepdaughter and his grandchildren, who were the apple of his eye. He was such a loving, caring and goodhearted individual who would do anything for anyone. He was loved by so many and will be missed dearly. He was the ultimate best husband, step-father and grandfather in the world.
Also surviving are his step-daughter, Lori Davitt, Jessup; stepsons, Nick Davitt, Old Forge; and Chris Davitt, Archbald; 10 grandchildren, Jakob Davitt, Mark, Anthony and Lacie Hannon; Avery, Ayden, Ariana, Alex, Aleia and Mia Davitt; two brothers, Robert Taramelli, Jermyn; and Thomas Taramelli, Jessup; three sisters, Mary Ann Kordish, Jessup; Barbara Clementson, Peckville; and Pauline Dippel, East Benton; many nieces and nephews, including Timmy Taramelli, South Carolina, who was very dear to him.
He was also preceded in death by his nephew, Randy Kordish.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at Queen of Angels Parish in St. Michael's Church, First Avenue, Jessup. Interment with military honors in St. John's Cemetery in Jessup.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Wednesday morning from 8:30 until Mass time. Arrangements by the Arthur A. Albini Funeral Home, Jessup.
