Florence Drouse Pucilowski, 81, of Avoca, died Friday at Golden Living Center, Scranton. She and her husband, Joseph, observed their 54th wedding anniversary March 30.

She was born July 22, 1932, in Avoca, daughter of the late Joseph Drouse and Mary Vols Drouse Matechak. She attended Avoca schools and was employed in the area garment industry, retiring from Hy-Grade Pants Factory. She was a member of Amalgamated Clothing Union. A member of SS. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church, Avoca, until its closing, she recently was a parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, Dupont.
Also surviving are three sisters-in-law, Rita Drouse and Bernadine Matechak, both of Old Forge, and Hedy Matechak, Bradenton, Fla.; two aunts, Mary Krakowski, Avoca, and Helen Drouse, Pittston; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
She also was preceded in death by her stepfather, William Matechak Sr., and three brothers, Joseph Drouse, William Matechak Jr. and Charles Matechak.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Chapel, Lackawanna Avenue and Pine Street, Dupont, by the Rev. Joseph Verespy. Those planning to attend are asked to go directly to the chapel; there will be no procession from the funeral home. Friends may call Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea. Interment will be in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Moosic.
