William "Bill" J. Foley, 67, a lifelong resident of Old Forge, died Tuesday morning at Gino J. Merli Veterans Center in Scranton.

Born Nov. 29, 1946, son of the late William J. Sr. and Rose Reuther Foley, Bill was a graduate of Old Forge High School. A proud Air Force veteran, Bill was an active member of the Old Forge VFW Post 4954. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a security guard at Tobyhanna Army Depot. He was a longtime member of St. Lawrence O'Toole Church in Old Forge. He was also a supportive member of the National Rifle Association. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his loving sister, Kathleen Kerl and husband, Thomas, of Crystal Lake; nieces, Elizabeth Caucci and husband, David, of Clarks Summit; Mary Retzbach and husband, Craig, of Greenfield; Margaret McCaffrey and husband, Andrew, of Simpson; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Also preceding him in death was an aunt, Mary M. Foley.
His family would like to thank the staffs of Gino J. Merli Veterans Center and Hospice of the Sacred Heart for the exceptional care given to Bill throughout his illness.
Funeral services are scheduled to begin on Friday at 9:30 a.m. from the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home Inc., 517 N. Main St., Old Forge, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Lawrence O'Toole Church, 620 S. Main St., Old Forge, to be celebrated by Rev. August A. Ricciardi, pastor. Interment with full military services by the AMVETS Honor Guard will follow at Cathedral Cemetery in Scranton.
