John F. Timmons, 65, of Jenkins Twp., and formerly of Carbondale, died Friday at home.

Born in Carbondale, son of the late Harry H. and Louise M. McCann Timmons, he attended St. Rose of Lima Church, Carbondale. A graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale, he was an Air Force veteran of eight years, serving during the Vietnam War as a certified air traffic controller. John always loved talking to people, and was a kind uncle to his niece and nephews. We will always remember his huge smile and laughter.

Surviving are two brothers, Harry Timmons and wife, Margie, Lewes, Del.; and James Timmons and wife, Karen, Carbondale; a niece, Jamie Timmons; and three nephews, Patrick, Ryan and Harry "Pancho" Timmons.

The funeral will be Wednesday with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church. Spring interment will be in Canaan Corners Cemetery, Waymart.

The family will receive friends from 9 until Mass time at the church. Arrangements by the Brennan & Brennan Funeral Home Inc., 55 Lincoln Ave., Carbondale.
