I met Lovett as my personal tour guide to Bath and Stonehenge on a 2009 trip to England. I am a HUGE Dr. Who fan so imagine my delighted surprise when I discovered that my randomly engaged guide was a former Dr. Who director! We spent most of the day talking everything from Who memories to the problems with the modern education system (UK and US). Of course, he managed to squeeze in a lot of factual information about the sites were seeing as well! Whenever I look at the photos from that day I have to laugh - he took every picture of me and my family during our adventure and I note that some of the best photos from that trip were shot by a veteran BBC director!
He was a lovely man and one of the fondest memories of what was my last trip to England. I had every intention of looking him up when I one day returned and I am so saddened to hear of his passing. My thoughts with his family and friends and I hope his memory comforts you daily. He was a wonderful example of someone you meet once that has an impact on your life forever.
