I first met Richard in 1975 and for the remainder of his journey here had the honor to call him a dear friend and thank him for all the wonderful times and great advice he gave. I truly miss him and his great laugh and devilish smile!

As an artist, I visited Richard & his intriguing art collection in Fiesole Italy in 2012. I admired his vision & his tenacity & loved his sharp wit. We connected again when I did a show at SACI in Florence.
He arrived too late for the Opening but thundered on the door till they gave him access, then showed
up at the dinner, taking his place at the head of the table to the manner born !

I first met Richard C1970 at Firenze. There is a lovely memory of being driven by him to Stazzema for the dedication and celebration of the life of Signorina Nerina Simi.
My condolences, Lancilotto
Richard Fremantle's contribution to art and literature was extraordinary.
My deepest sympathy, Aveline

I truly loved Richard from the day I met him 30 years ago. Though we lived on different continents, he remained, and will always remain, in my heart and mind. An eloquent, kind, interesting and interested man, and loads of fun!
My deepest sympathies, and may he rest in peace.

Memorable conversations since meeting in NYC 1980s when he described his mother to me at a party at my mother's, Joan Stillman. I will miss him. Thank you for TNYTimes' obituary.
