Frederick William "Bill" Galvin Sr. East China Twp. Frederick William "Bill" Galvin Sr., age 84, died March 18, 2013. He was born July 6, 1928 to the late James and Olga Galvin. On May 17, 1947 Bill married Margaret Netzel in Marine City. Bill currently holds the record at Marine City High School for most points scored in a single basketball game. A record he set in 1946. He was also a member of the 1946 undefeated Mariner Football Team. He was a member of IBEW Local 58 for 65 years. Bill was active with Marine City Little League for many years and was an avid golfer. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Margaret Galvin, sons; Tim (Karen) Galvin, Tom (Barb) Galvin, Bill Jr. (Mary) Galvin and John Galvin, 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, sisters; Joyce Tennant and Jane Hoppe. He was preceded in death by a brother; James Galvin. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be conducted Wednesday March 20th at 1:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. The family will receive visitors prior to the service Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Blue Water Area Humane Society or St. John's UCC, Marine City. www.youngcolonial.com

DEAR PEG AND THE BOYS, JUST HEARD ABOUT MY DEAR FRIEND BILL. HE HAD A GREAT INFLUENCE ON MY LIFE. HE GOT ME INTO GOLF WHICH LED TO MANY ROUNDS TOGETHER AT PINE SHORES. Having coached little league along side of Bill, I observed how he had a way of getting the best out of the players he managed. His drive to see these young people be the best they could be, shows in the records his teams compiled.
