Bartley, Billy  
Billy Bartley Avoca Billy Bartley, age 93, passed away November 9, 2014, at the Marysville Hospice Home. Billy was born in Croswell, September 17, 1921 to Claude and Samantha Bartley.  He graduated in 1939 from Croswell High School, and sailed the Great Lakes 1940-1941, aboard the J.J. Campbell. In 1942 he volunteered to fight for his country in the U.S. Army Air Corp, where he was trained as an aerial photographer, engine mechanic, aerial gunner, attended cadet school, and ultimately became a flight engineer in the 401st bomber squadron. Billy married Margaret Pascoe of Detroit, March 2, 1946.  She remained the love of his life, even though she left us all June 11, 1992. He owned the Texaco Service Station and Hobby Shop in Lexington, was a boiler house foreman, and then instrument technician for Croswell Michigan Sugar. Billy built R/C model airplanes and was a founding member of Port Huron Treetoppers, and a twenty year member of the Southern Eagles R/C club.  He also coached minor league hockey out of McMorran Arena for twelve years. Billy is survived by four children, Michael, Kathi, Nancy, and Anne Marie, six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, son in law and friend Frank Hull, and five siblings. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marge, grandson Matthew Bartley Van Houten, and son in law Benjamin Schonschack. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held at Pomeroy Funeral  Home, Lexington, December 13, 2014 at 11 AM, with visitation from 10 to 11 AM. Burial will be in the Lexington Cemetery with Military Rites.  Honorary pallbearers are his grandchildren, Patrick, Caryn, Daniel, Amy, Tessa, and Nicholas. Theodore J. Benedict, 73 FORT GRATIOT Theodore J. "Ted" Benedict, 73, of Fort Gratiot, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014. Survived by five children. Visitation 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. today at Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home. Funeral service 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Chorostecki, John  
John M. Chorostecki Port Huron John M. Chorostecki, age 85,  formerly of Sarnia, died Saturday, November 22, 2014 in Medilodge of Port Huron.  He was born December 27, 1928 in Oplucko, Poland and lived in Port Huron for the past 17 years with his wife Jean King. John was a graduate of the University of Toronto with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He retired from Imperial Oil having worked in Sarnia, Cartagena, Columbia (1964) and Kingston, Jamaica (1964 to 1969).  He was an avid sportsman, having played football for the University of Toronto and the Sarnia Imperials from 1950 to 1954. As a member of the Sarnia Yacht Club for 45 years, he loved sailing and cruising the North Channel in C Me Now to pick blueberries.  John was an active member of the Bluewater Chordsmen for over 25 years and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Port Huron for 17 years, where he also sang in the choir. He is survived by his wife Jean King Chorostecki, 4 sons, James (Marika), Joseph (Jean), Jay (Tina), and Jason, step-daughters, Joanne Westrick and Rebecca (James) Beebe, 2 brothers, Eugene (Helen) Chorostecki and Edward (Carole) Chorostecki, 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, one step-great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sicily, and his grandson, Jacob. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church - Port Huron.  A celebration of his life will be held at the Port Huron Yacht Club Saturday December 27 at 1300 hours.  Arrangements were by Smith Family Funeral Home - North, 1525 Hancock Street, Port Huron.  www.smithfamilyfuneralhome.com .

Clark, Elizabeth  
Elizabeth J. Clark Kimball Townhip Elizabeth J. Clark, 94,  was promoted to Glory on Sunday, November 23, 2014. She was born November 29, 1919 in Port Huron to the late John and Alice VanBuskirk. She married Francis B. Clark on June 29, 1945 in Port Huron. He died April 8, 2004. Mrs. Clark was a lifelong member of The Salvation Army and was involved with the Golden Agers, Kitchen Band, League of Mercy and Home League, where she was chaplain for many years. Elizabeth was also a dedicated Salvation Army Christmas bell ringer for over 30 years. She is survived by a daughter, Marjorie (Michael) Warner of Brooklyn; two sons, Robert Clark of California and Loren VanBuskirk of Greenville, South Carolina; ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Shirley Ann VanBuskirk; four brothers and three sisters. Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 29, 2014 in The Salvation Army, Port Huron Citadel. Major Mark Turner will officiate. Burial will be in Kinney Cemetery, Clyde Township. Green, Harley  
Harley R. Green Marysville Harley R. Green, age 87, of Marysville died November 17, 2014 at Marwood Nursing and Rehab.  He was born January 26, 1927 in Port Huron to Harley and Berniece Green.  He married Jewell Wojakowski on August 29, 1970 in St. Clair.  Harley served in the U.S. Army at the end of WWII and worked for most of his life as an educator.  He enjoyed bowling and golfing.  Harley is survived by his wife, Jewell Green, a son, Harley (Heidi) Green, 3  grandsons, Daniel King, Andrew King (fiancé Melissa Mertz), and Corwin Green, a sister, Audrey Hagle, brother-in-law, Donald (Jean) Wojakowski, 3 nieces, Deborah Wojakowski, Dona (Michael) Salerno, and Sue Wojakowski, and 2 nephews, William (Genise) Hagle and Peter Wojakowski.  He was preceded in death by his parents.  A memorial service will take place at 11 AM Saturday, November 29th in the Smith Family Funeral Home - South, 1230 7th Street with Elders Harley Thomas and Fred Conlee of the Community of Christ Church in Marysville officiating.  Friends may share with the family beginning at 10 AM until the time of the service.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Safe Horizons - Pathway, with Harley Green in the memo line.  www.smithfamilyfuneralhome.com .

Jasmin, Donna  
Donna June Jasmin East China Twp. Donna June Jasmin, age 73,  died November 23, 2014. She was born February 19, 1941 in Minden City to the late Howard and Kathryn (Kramer) Cleland. Donna graduated from Harbor Beach High School in 1958 and attended Port Huron School of Beauty. In April of 1965 Donna married Charles Jasmin. She worked for both Angler Rod and Callahan's Auto in St. Clair. Donna was a member of the Pine River Sportsman Club, St. Mary's Catholic Church and the YMCA. She enjoyed scrapbooking, shooting and archery and playing cards. She is survived by her husband of 49 years Charles Jasmin, son, Marvin Jasmin (Starr), brothers and sisters; Richard (Nancy) Cleland, Dale (Sara) Cleland, Delores Russ, Deanne (William) Brown, Doyle (Ila) Cleland and Dora (Randy) Merriman, many nieces and nephews and her beloved pet "Tippy".  She was predeceased by a niece, Natalie Merriman. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday November 26th at 11:00 a.m. at L.C. Friederichs and Son Funeral Home, St. Clair. Visiting hours are Tuesday 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Pine River Sportsman Club, Dr. Youssef Hanna's Office in Port Huron, St. Mary's Catholic Church in St. Clair or the wishes of the family.
