Barnum, Gayle  
Gayle Barnum Lake Wales, FL Mrs. Gayle Barnum, 85, of Lake Wales, Florida died on Thursday, March 19, 2015, at her home. She was born on September 25, 1929 to Roy and Helen McMeeken in Port Huron, Michigan and moved to Lake Wales 42 years ago from St. Clair, Michigan. She was a retired registered nurse at Lake Wales Hospital with 30 years of service and was a graduate of Harper Hospital School of Nursing in Detroit. She volunteered for Bok Tower Gardens at the welcome desk for 27 years and was active at the Lake Wales Arts Center. Gayle is survived by her children, Michael (Maria) Barnum of St. Clair, Donald Barnum of Sterling Heights, MI, Randy (Linda) Barnum of Modesto, CA, Brook Barnum of Richmond, CA, Betsy (Roger) Edwards   of Babson Park, and Nancy (Ken) Knox of Plantation, FL; 15 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Glenn and a sister Judith Nowak. A  memorial service was held  Friday, March 27, 2015, at Bok Tower Gardens, in Florida. Brouckaert, Richard  
Richard George Brouckaert Port Huron Richard G. Brouckaert, 82, of Port Huron, died on Thursday, April 9, 2015, in his home. He was born May 1, 1932 in Detroit, the son of the late George H. and Agnes Brouckaert. His beloved wife, Barbara Garman Grove Brouckaert preceded him in death on June 15, 2002. Richard served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1957 and was a member of the Algonac VFW Post 3901. He retired from General Motors in 1990 after 32 years as an engineer. He volunteered at Port Huron Hospital, was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Port Huron and was former commander of the Algonac Power Squadron. He was a member of state champion Grosse Pointe Woods Chapter Barbershop Quartet, loved fishing, boating and was an avid reader. He is survived by two sons, Richard L. (Mary) Brouckaert and Brian A. (Tamela) Brouckaert; two daughters, Kathryn A. Andros and Karen L. Niver, M.D.; their mother, Theresa Ann Brouckaert; grandchildren, Janille and Lauren Andros, Kaitlyn (Dave) Marchese, Dustin Niver, Jessica, Matthew, Sarah, Andrew, Angela and Alaina Brouckaert; his brother, Camille (Cindy) Brouckaert; stepchildren, Marty and Angie Grove, Kathy and Jim Price, David and Robin Grove, Karen and David Cossu and Dan Grove; nine step-grandchildren, and six step-great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a sister and her husband, Lorraine and Bill Kennedy. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 13, 2015, in St. Mary Catholic Church. The Reverend Zbigniew Zomerfeld will officiate. Visitation will be 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home and Monday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service in the church. A Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Sunday evening in the funeral home. Brozowski, Crystal  
Crystal Brozowski Attica Crystal Brozowski, 72,  died on Saturday, April 11, 2015 Crystal was a daughter of Roy P. and Olive L. (Doan) Moses.  She grew up in Memphis and graduated with the Class of 1961 of Memphis High School.  Crystal married Elmer Frank "Al" Brozowski on April 4, 1964 in Port Huron.  Crystal had worked at the Hamill Seatbelt Mfg. Plant in Imlay City, P.S.I. Plastics Plant in Imlay City, and retired from of Romeo Rim. Crystal is survived by:  her husband: Al Brozowski of Attica; her sons: Jeffrey Alan (Dawn) Brozowski of North Branch and Scott Brady Brozowski of Warren; grandchildren: Kassandra (& fiancé: Kevin Ahrens) Brozowski, Amber Brozowski, and Stormie Brozowski.  Also surviving are: her brothers: Charles Moses of Ruby and Roy J. Moses of Port Huron; her sisters: Doris Middleton of Ruby, Melvajean (& Doug) Ostrander of Yale, and Jeline King of Taylor.  Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at the Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City.  Visiting  4 -- 8 pm Tuesday, April 14, 2015 and 10 am -- 11 am Wednesday at the Muir Brothers Funeral Home, 225 N. Burns, Joann  
Joann Janice Burns Melvin Joann Janice Burns, 73, of Melvin, passed away Friday, April 10, 2015, surrounded by her family at Marlette Hospice Residence. She was born in Detroit, February 19, 1942, the daughter of the late Joseph William and Genevieve Marie (Scherrens) Good. Her marriage to William "Bill" Burns was September 30, 1961, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Richmond. Joann was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Yale and Sacred Heart Brown City. She was a former member and officer of the Altar Society and the St. Mary's Guild at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Yale. Joann was a member of the former  Knights of Columbus Ladies Queen of Peace, Imlay City and American Legion Auxiliary, Peck. Joann was a 1960 Memphis High School graduate. She was a typist for Ford Motor Company, co-owner and bookkeeper of Burns Tractor Service of Melvin. She was a volunteer at We Care Resale Shop, Yale and a homemaker. Joann loved reading, antiquing and gardening and enjoyed baking and bird watching. Surviving in addition to Bill, her husband of 53 years, are four sons, Shawn of Grand Blanc, Michael (Michelle) of Vermont, Eric (Lori) of Yale, and Aron (Roxana) of Indiana, and two daughters, Bridget (Mark) West of Ohio and Christine Burns of Ray Township; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandson; two God-children, Linda A. Stager and Derek J. Burns; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and special friends.    She is preceded in death by her sister, Alice Lesinski and brother, Norman Good. The family honors the memory of Joann and invite you to visit and share memories Monday 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Yale, with rosary devotion at 7:00 p.m., led by Knights of Columbus Ladies Queen of Peace. Rite of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at  Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Brown City, with 10:00 a.m. visiting. Fr. Richard Treml, pastor of Ss.
