Biscorner, Carolyn
Carolyn Christina Connolly Biscorner Carolyn Christina Connolly Biscorner, 68, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2016, at home. The daughter of Robert E. and Elizabeth L. Connolly, she was born in Detroit shortly after the end of World War II on November 30, 1947.  From that day on, she was the lifelong delight of her three sisters and two brothers. After graduation from Marine City High School and attending Weber College in Florida, she began her career as a licensed real estate broker. Her reputation selling commercial properties led to job offers by banks in the Port Huron area. At that time, she broke ground for professional women in the banking industry by proposing a new position restoring and selling bank-owned properties. Success in this arena led to branch management positions, after which she became an independent mortgage broker, establishing Huron Shores Mortgage Co., now a branch of Mortgage One in Alpena. Her biggest joy in life, however, was raising her sons, Marc and Kevin. She took great pride in their accomplishments. Summers at the lake with her sons, and later with her grandchildren, Kevin and Jordan, were annual highlights savored throughout the year.   Carolyn couldn't say no to anyone. If there was a way, she found it, always with grace, respect for others, and kindness. Her optimistic nature, sense of humor and fun-loving spirit endeared her to everyone she met. Survivors include Brent Lambert, her loving and beloved soul mate of more than 20 years; her son, Marc Biscorner of Virginia Beach, Virginia; her grandchildren, Kevin and Jordan Biscorner, her siblings, all in the Alpena area, Patricia (Michael) Yantomasi, Mary (Jere) Doyle, Michael (Marcia) Connolly, and E.J. (Ann) Connolly; her aunt, Sally Lappan; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her son, Kevin; her former husband, Ronald Biscorner; a sister, Catherine "Kay" (George) Hug; her parents and her grandparents C.C. and Sarah Lappan. Memorial visitation will take place on Saturday, June 25, at the Bannan Funeral Home from 4 p.m. until time of the memorial service at 7 p.m. with Sister Mary Hughes officiating. In lieu of flowers, consider memorials in appreciation of the doctors and staff at the Cancer Center at MidMichigan Medical Center-Alpena, Michigan.
