Dorothea Winifred Emerick, 98, of Port Huron died Tuesday, June 10, 2014 in Marwood Nursing and Rehab.

She was born February 15, 1916 in Canada to the late Robert and Daisy May McCullough.   She married Alex Emerick Jr. on June 28, 1947.  He preceded her in death on May 12, 1996.

Dorothea was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and the Gamma Nu Club.  Dorothea and Alex were involved with the Band Boosters at Port Huron High School for many years and even attended the 1972 Olympics in Munich, Germany with the Band. 

She is survived by her daughter, Melody (Charles "Ted") Nurnberg; two grandchildren, Chris (Laura) Nurnberg and Courtney (Robert) Ross; four great grandchildren, Jonathan and Benjamin Nurnberg and Brady and Cooper Ross.  She is preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby and Melvin McCullough; and two sisters, June McCullough and Betty Francois.

Visiting hours will be 2-7 p.m. Sunday in Smith Family Funeral Home-North.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 16, 2014 in Smith Family Funeral Home-North, 1525 Hancock Street, Port Huron.

Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or Port Huron High School Band Boosters.
