Dorothy Goodmen

Dorothy Goodmen Marysville Dorothy Goodmen age 89 of Marysville, passed peacefully Saturday, March 9, 2013. Dorothy was born May 3, 1923 in Hamtramck to the late Victor and Mary Skuta. She married Joseph M. Goodmen July 14, 1941, whereas he preceded her in death April 19, 1980. Dorothy was a Red Cross volunteer, participated in the Senior Citizen Olympics of St. Clair County, five medals to prove it! She loved to bowl, member of the WIBC's, shared birthday wishes/luncheons with the Marysville Birthday Club. Loved to travel, she gave it her best shot at golfing; member of the Elk's Club. Joe and Dorothy were life long members of the Futuristic Card Club, she was a member of the Marysville K of C Ladies Auxiliary and St. Mary's and St. Christopher's Parishes. Dorothy also supported the family mechanic/gas station business for many years while raising and making sure the kids made it to all the drum, piano/organ, sax, trumpet, ballet, and hockey lessons. She loved listening to the Marysville Band now known as the Viking Regiment after watching all the children and grandchildren perform through high school. She is survived by her children, David Goodmen, Marysville, Charles (Denise) Goodmen, Kimball, Richard (Karen) Goodmen, Marysville, Edward (Ilona) Goodmen, Summerville, South Carolina, Christine (David) Robinson, Fort Gratiot, Joseph Goodmen, Port Huron, and Mary Goodmen, Port Huron. Dorothy was blessed with 23 grandchildren, 25 great grand children, 1 great great grandchild. Brother Raymond Skuta ,St. Clair, sister Alyce Boden, Scottsdale, Arizona, and son-in-law,Don Mongeau Gurnee, Illinois. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a daughter Emily Mongeau (2005) and a brother Gerald Skuta. Visitation 2-9 p.m. Thursday in the L.C.Friederichs & Son Funeral Home with Rosary at 7 p.m. In State Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Clair from 10 a.m. till mass at 11 a.m. Burial in Riverlawn Cemetery. Memorials to the Viking Regiment or Marysville K of C.
