Gaylord Clements, age 76,  passed away peacefully January 12, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was born to the late James and Mercedes Clements on April 25, 1937 in St. Clair. He married Roseann Friederichs on May 14, 1958 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Marine City. He worked for the Diamond Crystal Salt Company prior to retiring from Chrysler Corporation after 38 years of service. He was a lifelong member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. He loved watching all the water activity along the St.Clair River. His most favorite time spent was with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren who he loved very much.

He is survived by his wife; Roseann Clements, children; Lori (Rick) Ames, Sue (Jim) Moran, Tom Clements, Steve Clements, Bob Clements, Kim (Tim) Askew, 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by brothers; Paul Clements, Ken (Joyce) Clements, sister; Edith Louden and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by brothers; Phillip, William, James, and Charles Clements.

A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, January 16 at 12:00 p.m. at Our Lady on the River Parish, Holy Cross Catholic Church, Marine City. Interment will follow at Rosehill Cemetery, East China Twp. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Young Funeral Home, China Twp. and Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at church prior to mass. A rosary will be said at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Blue Water Choices, Marine City.
