George T. Krosnicki, Jr.
George T. Krosnicki, Jr. 63, passed away from complications caused by multiple sclerosis, Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Blue Water Hospice Home, Marysville.
He was born in New Jersey, July 30, 1950, the son of the late George and Jean Krosnicki.
His marriage to Sharon Davis-Meddaugh was November 22, 1980 in Yale.
George served his country with the United States Navy
aboard the U.S.S. Algerholm Destroyer. He was a signalman from 1969-1973, during the Vietnam War
and was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal with bronze star
. George was a member of the Peck American Legion and the Yale V.F.W.
George was a 1968 Peck High School graduate and Ferris State University where he obtained a degree in welding science. He was employed by Ford Motor (Tractor Division, Romeo, Michigan) and later from Henkel Corporation from which he retired in 1998. George loved outdoor activities and was an accomplished hunter and fisherman. He was proud of his family, career accomplishments and his service in the Navy.
George is survived by Sharon, his wife of 33 years; children, Lisa (Andrew) Kocis, Michael (Sara) Meddaugh, and Troy Krosnicki; grandchildren, Andrew and Alex Kocis and Ella Meddaugh; brother, Chester (Jean) Krosnicki and sister, Linda (Bob) Frabis; sister-in-law, Patt Bertram and brother-in-law, Harry Davis, as well as several nieces, nephews and many friends.
The family honors the memory of George and invite you to visit and share memories Monday 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Kaatz Funeral Directors, Yale. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday with 10:00 a.m. visiting. Rev. Jerry Griggs, pastor of Carsonville United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Peck.
Pallbearers will be Andrew and Alex Kocis, Lonnie Seres, Andy Longuski, Eric Longuski, Jeff Sholtis and Dan Napela.
