Kenneth W. Elsholz

Kenneth W. Elsholz, 94, entered Eternal Life on Saturday, November 2, 2013. He was born September 7, 1919 in Lenox, Michigan to the late Bernard & Hilda Elsholz. Ken sailed the Great Lakes and retired as Chief Engineer of the Boland Line, from the steamer "Elba" in March of 1966. He started his career at an early age of 19 and with hard study became the youngest Chief Engineer on the Great Lakes. He married Louise Wayburn on March 26, 1966 in Marine City.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Louise; step sons, Lawrence (Jacqueline) Wayburn and Richard (Dianne) Wayburn; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a brother, Bernard Elsholz; three sisters, Elda Kiersykowski, Ruth Partyka, Dorothy Steward and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ken was also preceded in death by siblings, Warren, Russell and Harry Elsholz, Evelyn Jacobi, Helen Riopelle and Mildred Jaycox.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 8, 2013 in Bower-Rose Funeral Home, Marine City. Visitation will be held Thursday from 3-8pm in Bower-Rose Funeral Home. The Reverend Troy G. Waite of St. Martin's Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery, East China. Memorials may be directed to St. Martin's Lutheran Church.
