Richard J. Wilson Fort Gratiot Richard J. Wilson, age 73, passed away of natural causes on November 17, 2012 while deer hunting up north. He was born August 30, 1939 in Port Huron and was a lifelong area resident. He married Marilyn S. McCabe on October 7, 1961 at Court Street Baptist Church. Mr. Wilson worked for nearly 30 years at Mueller Brass. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being a member of the Blue Water Sportsman's Club. He also enjoyed attending classic car shows, and owned a 1955 Buick. He was also a regular at McDonald's for morning coffee. Mostly he loved to spend time spoiling his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn S. Wilson, a daughter, Darcy (Brian) Hedberg, a son, Jeff (Melissa) Wilson, 7 grandchildren, Jessica, Megan, Christopher, and Noelle Hedberg, and Jacob, Catherine, and Thomas Wilson, a sister, Bonnie (Frederick) Hopp, a brother, David (Jeannie) Wilson, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Vicki Wilson. A funeral service will take place at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Smith Family Funeral Home - North, 1525 Hancock Street with The Rev. Dan Bakay of the First Baptist Church officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.in the funeral home.
