Ronald J. Fritch
Ronald J. Fritch, 78 of DeLand, FL and formerly of Port Huron, MI, passed away March 6, 2014 at the Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia/Flagler Care Center in Orange City, FL. He was born September 16, 1935 in Deckerville, Michigan. He earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Michigan State University
and was a special education teacher. Ronald was a member of the First United Methodist Church of DeLand, FL, the St. John's Masonic Lodge of DeLand, FL, Hubbard Winsor Masonic Lodge of Pigeon, MI, the York Rites Masons of Daytona Beach, FL, the Tall Cedars of Lebanon in DeLand, FL and the United Methodist Men.
He enjoyed teaching life skills, building construction, and loved to cook for others.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Lois (Hooper); sons Robert "Bob" Fritch (Brenda) of Port Huron, MI and Russel Fritch (Ursula) of Boardman, OH; daughters Lucinda Bateman (Lee) of Pensacola, FL, Lynnette Wolf (Randy) of Casco Township, MI and Lenore Dunaway (Eric) of Conover, NC; sisters Lois Wiska of Taylor, MI, Laurine Hooper of Deckerville, MI and Diane Boldt of Ewing, KY; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 11am at the First United Methodist Church in DeLand with Reverend Owen Stricklin officiating. A memorial service will also be held in Michigan summer 2014.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either the First United Methodist Church of DeLand Building Fund or the Charles Hooper Education Fund at Deckerville Community Schools, Deckervill, MI or the
