William J. Hubbarth, 67,  formerly of Marine City, died unexpectedly January 15, 2014. He was born January 12, 1947 in Thamesville, Ontario to the late Joseph & Pearl Duquette. He served in the U.S.  Marines during the Vietnam War. Bill married Stephanie Smela October 5, 1990 in Algonac. Bill worked in the plastic manufacturing business for over 30 years and then owned and operated E & B Trucking, an expediting company. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, was devoted to his family and enjoyed spending as much time as he could with his grandchildren. He was an enthusiast on restoring old and classic cars.

Bill is survived by his wife, Stephanie; children, Lori (Tim) Comartin of Tupperville, Ontario, Bridget Ceynar and her fiancé, Todd Cassel of Ira Township, Brooke Hubbarth and her fiancé, Jon Hunt of East Pointe, Kellie Fraser of Wallaceburg, Ontario and Bill D. Hubbarth of Sarina, Ontario; eight grandchildren; siblings, Freeda (Gary) Direux, Billie J. Hubbarth, Kathy (Denny) Weber, Lexie Labadie, Cheryle Labadie, Bill Labadie, Nickie (Brad) Authier, Boomer (Debra) Duquette, Alvina (John) Rabideau and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bill was also preceded in death by a sister, Myrtle Duquette; a brother, Russ Bennett and a sister-in-law, Judy Fretz.

A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 12:00 pm Saturday, January 18, 2014 in Our Lady on the River Parish, Holy Cross, Marine City. Visitation will be held from 3-8 pm Friday in the Bower-Rose Funeral Home, Marine City and from 11:00 am until the time of Mass at the church. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Friday evening.
