William J. Rickerman


William J. Rickerman, age 74, died Wednesday Dec. 4, 2013 in Lakeshore AFC, Lexington.

He was born January 11, 1939 in Detroit, son of the late Woodrow and Evelyn (Salmon) Rickerman. He and Lorraine D. Umpfenbach were married November 14, 1964 in Detroit.

Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Marines and U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Lexington United Methodist Church, Lexington Lions Club, Moore Public Library, and a Board member of Project Blessing. Bill was a teacher and administrator. He taught in Grosse Pointe and Almont schools, and served as Administrator & Special Education Director at Cros-Lex Schools from 1973-2005.

Surviving are his wife, Lorraine; three sons, Shawn, Michael (Beth), and David (Carol); and five grandchildren, Emma, Kenton, Samuel, Dylan, and Benjamin.

He was preceded in death by a brother, James.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday Dec. 9th at Lexington United Methodist Church. Pastors Maureen Baker and Richard Kreisch will officiate.  Military graveside rites by Croswell American Legion Post #255.  Burial will be in the Lexington Cemetery.

Visitation will be 1 - 8 p.m. Sunday Dec. 8th at the Pomeroy Funeral Home, Lexington, and 10 - 11 a.m. Monday at the Church.

Memorials may be made to Lexington United Methodist Church.
